Our orthodontist uses advanced digital X-rays to examine your teeth and jaws. When we plan your orthodontic treatment, we look at all of your teeth and supporting structures to ensure that your treatment will produce the best results for your smile, health and oral function. To schedule an appointment with Dr. William Domeyer and learn more about digital imaging in Lake Worth and Boynton Beach, Florida, please contact Domeyer Smiles today at 561-734-2900.

There are two main types of digital imaging used at Domeyer Smiles – cephalometric X-rays and Panorex, or panoramic X-rays.

Cephalometric X-Rays

Cephalometric X-rays are a type of extraoral imaging, meaning that nothing is inserted into your mouth to capture images. Instead, pictures are taken using a specially adapted panoramic X-rays device with a mechanical arm. As the arm rotates around your head, images of your entire oral structure, including the nasal and sinus passageways, are captured. This gives Dr. Domeyer a comprehensive view of your jaw, mouth and head to ensure that your treatment is as precise, effective and comfortable as possible.

Panorex Imaging

Panoramic X-rays are used to capture images of your complete jaw, including both the upper and lower dental arches, the upper and lower jawbones, all the teeth, and your surrounding facial structures. This allows our orthodontist to evaluate your need for orthodontic treatment and asses the progress of any treatment you may receive. Images are captured quickly and comfortably by the device and transmitted nearly instantaneously to a nearby monitor so that we can provide you with a fast and accurate diagnosis and treatment recommendation.
